The bill (Reg. No.8238) amends clause 150 of the Land Code, whereby "peat lands used as agricultural lands" are treated as lands of special value due to change of the definition "peat lands with depth of peat deposits more than one meter and innings irrespective of depth." Under the bill, the lands might also be withdrawn for peat extraction.
Moreover, the bill relieves individuals and legal entities from the compensation of losses caused by agricultural and forestry production, if they use land plots for peat extraction, provided the land plots are returned in a condition appropriate for the use in social produce."
According to the Committee members, implementation of the bill will solve the pressing issues in the sphere.
